Eva's work as an ecologist at the Fire Lab included developing data layers for the LANDFIRE prototype, investigating the influence of spatial scale on vegetation succession and disturbance modeling, and comparing burn severity mapping methodologies. She transitioned from research to the application realm to focus on quantitative wildfire hazard and risk methodology and mapping. Her current task is to provide wildfire hazard map products that support community land-use planning.
On wildfire incidents, Eva is currently a GISS trainee. She attempts to cultivate her inner cartographer while meeting the demands of the hectic incident mapping schedule.
