Personal Summary

Taryn is an ecologist/writer for the Fire Effects Information System (FEIS). She researches and writes syntheses of species and their relationships with fire, with a focus on desert plants. Publications by FEIS make science more accessible to land managers and others by synthesizing the best available science into one source for different species and ecosystems. Before working for FEIS, Taryn was a natural resources specialist with the Center for Environmental Management of Military Land (CEMML) on the 3 million acres of the Nevada Test and Training Range in southern Nevada. With CEMML, she surveyed vegetation and wetlands and made management recommendations to military partners.
