Daily, Weekly, Seasonal, and Interannual Variability of CO2, CO and CH4 Emissions from Biomass Burning in North America and their Impact on Atmospheric Chemical Composition

Developed an inventory of CO2, CO, and CH4 emissions from biomass fires in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico with a 1-kim x 1-km resolution for the years 2002-2008 using a combination of airborne and ground-based field data in studies conducted throughout Mexico. The results will reduce uncertainty in emissions of these compounds from biomass burning in North America and are critical for developing an effective carbon management policy.
